Dear NCC singers,

The raspberries are done, and the wood pile is ready for the winter, so it must be time to get back to the podium!

Our upcoming program will explore more traditional works of the holiday season including

I am also considering adding a few octavos and/or have Hilltones join us for this concert.  The performance dates will be Dec. 7th and 8th for this program. We will also be sponsoring a Messiah Sing for the community on Dec. 6th at 3:00 pm. This will be a new venture for the chorus. Although we will focus on Part 1 (the Christmas section), we will also include some of the more familiar choruses from Parts 2 and 3.  My plan, at this point, is to have the instrumentalists up front and the chorus and audience singers together in the pews. More on this in September.

I am trying to collect music from our previous two concerts. I am missing music from (8) people and need to return it to our lending library. So if you are in possession of “Sure On This Shining Night”, “Make Our Garden Grow”, “Somewhere” and Bernstein “Mass”(that you did not purchase), you can send them to me at 1000 Main Street, or drop them off at the main desk or fieldhouse at the Academy, or bring them to our first rehearsal in September.

Chorus begins September 10th , 7:15 at the Morse Arts Center. Plan to come early to register (if you have not done so online), collect music, and enjoy refreshments and conversation. I look forward to seeing you all and getting started! Dates for our fall concerts will be Dec 6-8.

My best,
Alan
